True story, and this was probably the worst customer I had. The jerk felt the need to make some off-the-cuff comment about what he felt was my rosacea. Thing is, I don’t have rosacea. I’ve looked it up, and I don’t have rosacea. It’s just adult acne, and it’s a sensitive issue with me. I told the customer it’s just adult acne scarring, and he told me, “Oh, that’s rosacea, I should know, I’ve worked in pharmaceuticals for 30 years. You need to get it taken care of.” I told the customer he really needed to mind his own business about what I looked like, he said I was terribly mistaken, he knew of ways I could control it and treat it, it got into an argument where I told him I’ve been on numerous treatments from doctors for it and he didn’t know anything about what I’ve had to deal with since my teen years, and it ended up with me crying and ringing him out and pretty much yelling at him to NEVER come back to my line to get checked out again. The only time I’ve EVER told a customer that.
I WORK IN A GROCERY STORE. I SHOULD NOT HAVE TO BE DEALING WITH SHIT LIKE THIS. Why can’t people just keep their damn mouths shut?
